The Communications and Media Office (CMO) serves as the official communications hub for the College of Micronesia-FSM. The office is responsible for safeguarding and advancing the institution’s reputation, maintaining consistent messaging across all internal and external communications channels, and serving as the principal liaison between the college and regional media outlets.
The College President / The President’s Office serves as the sole authorized spokesperson for the institution on matters of significant concern. Other staff and faculty may be designated as subject matter experts for specific topics, provided this
engagement is coordinated and approved in advance by the Communications and Media Office.
Branding & Visual Identity
All communications must adhere to the college’s publications guide to ensure a consistent brand identity across all platforms (web, print, social media, college merchandise, etc.).
The Communication and Media Director coordinates a review process of all promotional material released to the public to ensure the message is consistent with the College’s mission and that the information is accurate.
Website & Social Media
The Communication and Media Office oversees all social media platforms and maintains and updates the College website, while ensuring materials uploaded meet accessibility and compliance standards.
Graphics
Developing and creating high-quality graphic design materials for a variety of college-wide events and initiatives, including posters, flyers, brochures, social media graphics, info graphics, presentations, bus stickers, banners, and more. Collaborating with department representatives and College event organizers the CMO will understand the specific needs and objectives for each project. The CMO will maintain a digital asset library of college logos, images, and templates.
Publications
Developing collegewide publications including; promotional materials, College Catalog, E-newsletter (KAMORALE Sharks) and Kpress Ad.
Branding and Marketing
Creating compelling content (written, visual, and multimedia) for various marketing materials, including the college website, social media platforms, college merchandise, print publications, etc. Manage and optimize the college’s social media presence, including content creation, community engagement, and paid advertising campaigns. Ensure consistent brand messaging.
Photography, Filming and Video Editing
The office produces high resolution photos used for all types of media from web content, marketing initiatives, and a variety of college publications. There will also be quality photos that capture the energy and vibrancy of campus life, ensuring that all marketing materials are visually appealing and engaging for prospective students.
Creates high-quality marketing and recruitment videos for the college, including promotional videos, student testimonials, and campus tours. Shoots, edits, and produces high-quality videos, these videos are also used for web news and social media.
Coverage College Events
Participate as an active committee member for college-wide events, including fundraising initiatives, commencement exercises support for these and presidential events. Responsible for advertising, marketing, media, and overall events.
Oversee LRC film Collection & MITC Room Reservation
Catalog video recordings in both short and full record. Maintain audiovisual material collection. In charge of scheduling of MITC rooms
CMO Equipment Usage
Train and supervise faculty, staff and students to use audiovisual equipment. Setup equipment needed for COM-FSM functions in the MITC Rooms and other spaces as required (when the CMO equipment is being used). Ensure correct usage of equipment and their functionality and whether they need to be replaced/updated.
ID Production
Produce ID for Students, Faculty and Staff for the National Campus
